Our staff has a full understanding of the nature of industrial injuries, and our priority at HealthNow Urgent Care is to get your employee back to work as quickly and safely as possible, which will save your company time and money. We also understand the complexity of paperwork and regulations involved, and we are here to assist you in navigating that so you can focus on your business.

At HealthNow Urgent Care, we have digital x-ray on site. X-ray images are portrayed on a computer monitor, read by our staff physician, and then the images are electronically transmitted to a Radiologist for a final read. And for those patients that need to take a copy of the x-rays to a specialist, we can burn the images onto a disc — which saves you and your employee valuable time.

The mission of the NRCME is to improve highway safety by producing trained certified medical examiners who can effectively determine if a commercial motor vehicle driver’s health meets Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration standards. The Department of Transportation requires all Commercial Drivers License (CDL) holders to receive periodic physical examinations, entitled “Department of Transportation Medical Examination”, to ensure the ability of the driver to safely operate a commercial vehicle. The US Department of Transportation sets the following guidelines:

2. Drivers cannot be a diabetic on needle-injected insulin; diabetes controlled through a diet or oral medication is permitted.
3. A driver’s blood pressure must be under 160/100. Prescription medication to control blood pressure is permitted.
4. Use of a Schedule 1 drug, amphetamine, narcotic or any other habit forming drug is not permitted.
5. If a driver has a current diagnosis of cardiac insufficiency, collapse, congestive cardiac failure or any other cardiovascular disease, he/she will be required to provide the Medical Examiner with a stress test (performed within the last 12 months) along with a release from the driver’s physician stating that he/she can drive a commercial motor vehicle without restrictions.
The Department of Transportation also requires clearance for drivers that have been diagnosed with the following conditions: sleep apnea, recent back injury, recent major surgery, a current hernia, or have had recent workers’ compensation claims.
